The 1:5 On Road class, also known as Large Scale On Road, provides the closest racing experience to full size circuit racing on a smaller scale. Powered by 23cc petrol engines, these touring cars offer a unique  challenge in the world of scale motorsport.

An Unrivalled On Road Racing Experience

Racing in the 1:5 On Road class, like any other touring car category, is tight and intense – however, with the unique characteristics of larger, heavier vehicles at play, they offer a very different challenge compared with other on road categories. With limited grip, down to the rear-wheel drive layout and the inherent weight of the vehicles, large scale touring cars exhibit characteristics reminiscent of full-size racing cars, providing action like nothing else in the sport.

Highly Engineered, Realistic Cars

Not only is the racing in 1:5 On Road realistic, but so are the chassis designs – featuring heavy duty designs, petrol powered internal combustion engines, four wheel braking systems and independent double wishbone suspension, the cars provide an engineering challenge second only to a full size competition vehicle.

Whilst high end competition kits are among the most expensive in the sport due to their size and complexity, with a startup cost of around $3,000 USD, there are several more affordable options, such as pre-built “ready to run” vehicles, that offer a more accessible route into the category.
