1:12 On Road offers all the challenges typically associated with on road racing – typically running on tight, challenging indoor carpet circuits that offer no margin for error, this class is all about precision driving and close-quarters racing. Further adding to the challenge is the eight minute race length, an increase over the standard five minutes of other electric powered classes – this means concentration is tested to the limits, providing an intense challenge for competitors of all abilities.

Lightweight, Simplified Cars

The design and construction of 1:12 On Road cars is substantially different to that of other categories – whilst still making use of high grade materials, complex designs are sacrificed for a more straightforward approach, with simplified suspension designs and fewer overall components. This places more emphasis on fine setup changes, with attention to detail key to extracting performance from the cars. This relative simplicity, as well as a comparatively lower price point for kits and, much like the 1:10 Touring Car category, the popularity of performance-limited sub classes, makes the class a potentially easier route into the sport than other on road categories.
